In mid 1998, the people in this area are
in a state of shock. A man in is found
dead without his head. It is believed
that a large Malayan Tiger has attacked
him and ripped his head off for dinner.
This brutal killing is caught on camera
and shown everywhere in nearby towns,
especially in Sungai Siput. However,
this wouldn't stop outdoor enthusiast
from pursuing their dreams into this
unspoilt nature.
From Gunung Korbu, it is seen that
Gunung Yong Yap is impossible to climb,
because of its steep gradient near the
top. In a topo map, it is seen that
Gunung Yong Yap is impossible to access,
because of its distance from the nearest
civilisation. With an opening of logging
track from kampung Lasah to Kuala Mu, an
expedition, which previously took 8 days
to complete is now compressed to 4 days.
Those who have gone to Gunung Yong Yap
would have known this "Ah-Hee", who run
a business by transporting people from
Kampung Lasah to Kuala Mu by using his
Hilux.
