Founded in 1929 as a natural research and conversation are, FRIM covers an extensive 1,528 hectares of verdant forest. Meticulously maintained in its natural
state, this unique institute adopts the very environment as its classrooms. The many frails meandering through FRIM are designed such that they would be as ecologically non-invasive as possible, while providing the visitor with a
memorable and edifying experiences of nature’s wonders, immersed in an environment so rich in biodiversity visitor should take their time during their jungle hikes, to try and spot the various species of flora and fauna
that the institute harbours. With a river and spectacular waterfall nestled at its hearts, FRIM also offers on the option of taking a refreshing dip after an enlightening afternoon of hiking along its balmy trails.

enthralling ‘canopy walk’. Constructed at an elevation of over 30m amidst the treetops, this 200-metre suspension bridge provides a unique panoramic view of FRIM that is as memorable as it is breathtaking.
